When do you expect your speeding ticket to arrive?

Any idea how long it would take, as stated in the title? Not from a flash camera, but from the tickets you receive if you are stopped by a mobile police unit.

Is there any way for you to check online/by phone/etc?

It all depends on how fast you were going.

Implying that post vans don't speed:P I'm pretty sure the fine is 10 working days, but I'm the only one in my family who hasn't had one haha.

I was terrified after seeing a police van with a camera on the bridge ahead of me. I was driving a little faster than the 50mph speed limit, so I assumed I'd be going too fast and they'd send me something through the mail. Fortunately, my speed was not excessive enough to warrant a fine, but I will never again speed or drive over the speed limit.

Oh, and they must notify you in writing within 14 days of the incident.

The speed limits are arbitrary. It is acceptable to use common sense to determine when and when not to speed. I wouldn't speed in congested areas, but doing so on the highway is perfectly acceptable.

I despise the notion that if you speed, you're a bad driver.

No, I constantly speed. It's just that I'm aware of what I'm doing. If you can concentrate enough to know how fast you're going, you're a bad driver. The only issue I see with speeding is getting a ticket as long as you're safe. So yeah Whether it's an arbitrary number or not, it's what we've been given and are expected to work with. If you're not going to obey it (and who can say they always do), at the very least play the ****ing game and be aware that you're going overboard.

In general, I can tell if I'm going over. Of course, I've gone over or under a little by accident, but it's far from common. You get a sense of how fast you're going no matter what. Other vehicles, engine feel in whatever gear Things are passing you by at breakneck speed.

Were you doing more than 35? If not, you probably won't have been clocked because your car's speedometer is set slightly higher than your actual speed.

I am aware that I was a mischievous young man. I can't even remember what happened.

I always assumed that if a cop caught you, they would stop you. When they had my father on that speed gun thing, they stopped him.

There are a lot of these around my area, but on occasion we got them in vans around a bend, and instead of pulling you over, they'd record you and mail it to you. Aside from that, I know where the majority of the flash ones are, so it's not a problem.

And if it had been the cop with the guns, they would have pulled me over. So I'm confident that I'm fine.

I drove my car to school for the first time today, and it felt great.
