You'll find two incredibly useful services that can assist you in this regard: 'Find a Property' and 'Search for Land and Property Information'. Although the latter is not yet available to purchase, it can be used at no cost to view specific register data and identify any rights or limitations on the land. In March 2021, it will provide property ownership details for purchase.

HM Land Registry owns a wealth of property-related data, from real estate companies compiling house-price indices to journalists seeking to learn about house prices. This data is used daily for a variety of reasons and is fundamental to the economy and real estate-based industries.

Find a Property, launched in March 2003, has facilitated millions of searches. It will be retired soon, making way for the newer, easier-to-use flagship citizen-facing service: Search for Land and Property Information. This service has already received over 750,000 searches since being introduced in February 2020. It provides information such as property deeds and utilizes the Price Paid Data set produced by HM Land Registry, which is used by property websites like Zoopla.

As Find a Property is phased out, new features like customer accounts, map searching, digital register and title plan views will be introduced to ensure a smooth transition between the two. HM Land Registry's goal is to become the world's leading land registry for speed, simplicity, and an open approach to data.
