Unbeatable Assistance for the Perfect Prep Machine

Are you a new owner of the Perfect Prep™ machine? Don't worry, we've got you covered with some common questions and troubleshooting advice.

To ensure the Perfect Prep™ works at its best, keep it in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and warm appliances. This will prevent the tank temperature from getting too warm and ensure the safety of your baby. The unit comes equipped with a probe that measures the water temperature in the tank and will prevent the unit from dispensing if the water is above 27°C.

If you live in a hotter climate, you may experience higher water temperatures. However, even in cooler climates, the main water supply can rise in temperature during prolonged periods of hot weather. To combat this, we recommend flushing the cold tap for 10 seconds before filling the tank.

To prevent the unit from getting too hot, avoid direct sunlight and top up with cold tap water regularly. You can also keep a jug of cold water in the fridge or add ice cubes to the hopper. While normal tap water is recommended, if you use boiling water, the machine will recognize the temperature and prevent the dispensing of a feed to ensure your baby's safety.

Water is a foodstuff and should be used within 1-2 days. The hot shot feature helps dissolve the formula powder quickly and kills any bacteria that may be present in the formula itself. However, the water dispensed in the hot shot is at a temperature of over 70°C.

Please note that the Perfect Prep™ machine has an allowed tolerance of /- 5% in dispensed water volume. Additionally, there may be tolerances in the measurement graduations of the Closer to Nature bottles, which means that volumes below 100 ml may vary by /- 5 ml and any volume above 100 ml may vary by /- 5%.

Although we do not manufacture formula powder, we recommend following the leading brands' guidance, which assumes a 9lb baby will be on 4oz feeds. However, every newborn's weight is different, and some may take longer to reach this amount. The Perfect Prep™ cannot make a bottle below 4oz since the volume must be sufficient to dilute the formula into an initial hot shot and a dilution necessary for body temperature.

Most standard water filters do not include an anti-bacterial filtration membrane and will not remove the same level of bacteria. Filters should last around three months, depending on the frequency of use and the bottle size. Prior to use, we recommend priming the filter by submerging it in water for a minute to remove any air bubbles or loose particles.

Finally, you may notice some harmless black carbon residue in the filter bag or on the cartridge's surface. Don't worry; this should reduce during the initial set up process when submerged in clean water.

The infusion of carbon in our filters has been duly certified for food-grade quality, providing utmost safety for your little one.

To address the concern at hand, we highly recommend trying out multiple plug sockets in your home to assess whether the socket itself is functioning properly.

Should the unit still exhibit no signs of power and you possess the original receipt, we advise that you swiftly return the item to the retailer of purchase to facilitate an immediate exchange.
