ITVX Streaming App Arrives on Sky Q after Long Wait
ITVX, the streaming service from ITV that replaced ITV Hub, is finally making its way to Sky Q, months after its launch on other Sky devices.
This is a significant milestone for ITV on Sky, as its previous streaming app, ITV Hub, was never fully accessible on Sky Q.
According to Sky, ITVX is being rolled out today and will automatically appear on customers' Sky Q devices (see more details below).
With this development, ITVX is now available on a wide range of devices, including Freeview boxes, streaming sticks, Smart TVs, smartphones, and some pay-TV set-top boxes.

Customers who use Sky's broadband-based devices, Sky Glass and Stream, already experienced the transformation of ITV Hub into ITVX on their devices in November.
However, ITVX is still notably absent from a few major devices, such as the Manhattan T3-R Freeview Box (which will receive it soon) and older Smart TVs and Freeview boxes that won't be compatible.
What Is ITVX?
ITV's new streaming app, ITVX, is a free-to-watch service (with advertisements) that offers catch-up content, box-sets, and exclusive shows. Its aim is to compete with platforms like Netflix and Disney.

ITVX launched with over 10,000 hours of on-demand content (with advertisements), including 35 flagship shows, 200 series, and 250 films (here's what you can expect on ITVX in March).
In addition to on-demand content, you can also stream all of ITV's live channels through the app. There are also themed ad-supported live channels dedicated to a specific series or theme (including a British Sign Language channel) – though ITVX's live channels are not available on Freeview Play devices and some Smart TVs.
While ITV is heavily focused on the ad-supported free tier, ITVX also offers a paid Premium tier that eliminates advertisements when watching on-demand content.
Premium tier subscribers also gain access to the entire content library of BritBox, which features over 4,000 hours of classic British shows and films. It's worth noting that you can no longer subscribe to BritBox separately – new subscribers can only get it through ITVX Premium.

ITVX Premium, the subscription tier, has a current price of £5.99 per month or £59.99 per year.
It is worth noting that on Sky Glass and Sky Stream, customers have the option to add Ad-Skipping for £5 per month (previously free for 18 months, but now requires payment for new customers). This add-on allows ad-skipping on Sky's content, All4, and ITVX.
However, for customers using Sky Q, there is currently no such add-on available. To skip adverts on Sky Q, customers will need to directly subscribe to ITVX Premium, which also provides access to content from BritBox.
The complete ITV Hub app has never been available on Sky Q, with only a limited selection of catch-up shows from ITV accessible on the platform (and that selection was reduced further last year).

In 2021, Sky announced that ITV Hub would be introduced to Sky Q, but that plan eventually fell through, leading ITV to prioritize ITVX instead.
When ITVX launched in November 2022, Sky customers were disappointed to find that the app was not available on Sky Q, despite initial plans to have it at launch. Both Sky and ITV cited "technical difficulties" as the reason for the delay.
However, as of today, that has finally changed. Even before the official confirmation, Sky's social media team revealed that the ITVX app is indeed launching on Sky Q. It has already been launched on Sky Glass and Sky Stream.
ITVX should soon appear on the apps rail of Sky Q, although software updates sometimes have a slower rollout to all households.
Certain users have already reported the sighting of ITVX on their Sky Q device, while others have mentioned discovering it through Sky Q's voice search. It appears that this launch is taking place gradually, so individual experiences may vary.
To confirm, Sky has informed us that ITVX is indeed being rolled out to Sky Q today.
Interestingly, ITV's catch-up section will remain available on Sky Q. This means that customers will have the option to watch ITV's live shows on the linear channels or access them through catch-up, without needing to open the ITVX app.
