Canesten Pessary is a simple thrush treatment that can relieve your symptoms in three days. Canesten Pessary can provide quick relief if you're experiencing pain, discomfort, and itching in your vagina due to thrush.

Vaginal thrush is a yeast infection that almost every woman will experience at some point in her life. It occurs when the natural balance in your vagina is disturbed, allowing natural yeast or fungus to grow and cause infection. This is the source of thrush.

Clotrimazole, an antifungal agent, is present in Canesten Pessary. This means that it works from within to combat the yeast that causes infections like vaginal thrush, effectively treating the infection at its source.

If you are on your period, you should not use this Canesten Pessary because it may make the medication less effective. Tampons, douches, spermicides, and other vaginal products should also be avoided while taking this medication.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor or a Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product to ensure that Canesten is the best option for you at this time. If a medical professional says you can use this product, they may give you alternate instructions that you should carefully follow. If you are pregnant, they may ask you to use this pessary without an applicator.

If you are taking any other medication, including those obtained without a prescription, you should consult your doctor or a Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product. When certain medications are combined, they can cause side effects or make your medication less effective. If you are taking sirolimus or tacrolimus, which are used to reduce immune system response and the chances of rejection after an organ transplant, you should consult your doctor before using this product.

You should avoid having vaginal sex while you have thrush and are using this product, as your partner may become infected as well. If you do decide to have sex, keep in mind that this product can reduce the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives such as condoms or diaphragms. After using this product, you should use an alternate method of contraception for at least 5 days.

Remove the applicator from its packaging and pull the plunger until it comes to a halt. Remove the pessary from its foil packaging and insert it into the applicator, twisting it into place. Insert the applicator as deeply as is comfortable into your vagina, as you would a tampon, and then press the plunger until it stops. The Canesten Pessary is then inserted into your vagina. Remove the applicator and properly dispose of it.

Canesten does not require a prescription; however, your Chemist-4-U pharmacist will ask you to complete a brief medical questionnaire before we can process your order. This includes some basic questions that all pharmacies are legally required to ask before providing this type of product. When should Canesten Pessary be avoided?

Canesten Pessary should not be used by anyone under the age of sixteen or anyone over the age of sixty. If you are allergic to clotrimazole, other Canesten products, other vaginal antifungal products, or any of the other ingredients listed, do not use Canesten Pessary. Before using this product, consult your doctor or a Chemist 4 U pharmacist if you are unsure whether you have thrush, have had thrush more than twice in the last six months, or if you or your partner have ever had a sexually transmitted disease. Canesten Pessary should not be used to treat scalp or nail infections. If you have any of the following symptoms, consult your doctor or a Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product:

• Vaginal bleeding that is irregular
• Vaginal bleeding that is not normal
• Vaginal discharge stained with blood
• Vaginal ulcers, blisters, or sores
• Lower abdominal discomfort
• Urination discomfort
• Difficulty passing urine
• Chills or fever
• I'm feeling ill.
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea
• A foul-smelling vaginal discharge

Is there anything wrong with this product?

Canesten Pessary, like all medications, can cause side effects, though not everyone experiences them. When you use this product, you may experience allergic reaction symptoms such as:

• Rash
• Lip, throat, face, or tongue swelling
• Nausea
• Weakness, dizziness, or faintness
• Swallowing or breathing difficulties

If you experience any of these side effects while using Canesten Pessary, discontinue use and seek medical attention immediately. This product's other common side effects include:

• Itching
• Rash
• Swelling
• Redness
• Discomfort
• Burning
• Irritation
• Peeling or bleeding in the vaginal area
• Abdominal or pelvic discomfort

How should this product be stored?

Keep at room temperature in a cool, dry place. If the expiration date printed on the packaging has passed, keep the product in its original packaging and do not use it. Keep out of children's sight and reach.
