Eleven Steps to Tie a Jiu-Jitsu Belt with Visual Guide.
Step 1: Positioning the Belt

Start by holding the belt with both hands and laying it flat against your belly, making sure that the label is facing away from you. Evenly space the belt between your hipbones and belly button for optimal fit.
Step 2: Tightening the Belt
Cross the belt behind your back by holding one end in each hand and pulling them tight. Feed each side of the belt into the opposite hand so that it crosses once in the back.
Step 3: Adjusting the Fit
Bring both ends of the belt back to the front of your body, extend your arms to create proper tension in the back, and adjust the length of the belt accordingly. The ends should be equal in length for a snug and comfortable fit.
Step 4: Crossing the Belt
Cross the right-hand side of the belt over the left and then adjust your grip so that each side is now in front of the respective hand. The hand that had the right-side belt should now have the left side and vice versa.

Step 5: Layering the Belt
Take the top overlapping strap of the belt in your left hand and feed it under all the layers of the belt around your waist. Make sure to tuck it in from the bottom and out of the top for a secure hold.
