"Effortlessly Remove a Wall Plug (or Rawlplug) with These Simple Steps!"

Have you ever found yourself in the midst of a decorating prep and needed to remove a wall plug with ease? Personally, I refer to it as a rawlplug, but a lady on Instagram once corrected me for mispronouncing it. Honestly, both terms are acceptable. And for those living in the USA, they're called anchors; but let's not split hairs over a simple matter.

Is the rawl plug lodged halfway in the wall? Do you need a simple technique to remove wall plugs before filling? Well, I have just the solution that has received an overwhelming response on the Listed Home account on Instagram. This DIY hack has been my go-to for years and has proved especially handy during our renovation.

It's virtually foolproof and far better to remove a wall plug than beat it further into the wall, even if it might cause some damage at times. Don't worry, take a deep breath, and remember that you can fill and sand over the exposed area to restore the wall to a much better state than before.

Now, I apologize in advance for the blurry and unattractive pictures.

I recently demonstrated how to remove a wall plug on my IG stories, and these stills captured the steps precisely. Our wall featured a massive panel radiator that had to be removed during our extension project.

The following items would be necessary:

    1. A screw (slightly more extensive than the hole)

    2. Screwdriver

    3. Clawhammer

    The process is ridiculously easy:

      1. By hand, screw the screw into the wall plug hole.

      2. Using the screwdriver, screw it firmly into the hole.

      3. Then position the prongs of the claw hammer over the screw's head and pull to extract the screw from the wall.

Voila! You now have a rawl plug-free hole that's ready to be filled!

This method is the simplest approach that I've discovered to remove a wall plug. While some suggest bashing them in and filling over them, I prefer to remove them entirely for a much more polished finish.

In conclusion, I genuinely hope this little tip comes in handy!
