Adesanya holds the upper hand after knocking out Whittaker at UFC 243 in October 2019, claiming the middleweight world title.

Despite losing to Jan Blachowicz last March in the light-heavyweight competition, Adesanya remains unbeaten at middleweight and has cemented his status as the 'The Last Stylebender'.

Whittaker, on the other hand, bounced back after the loss to Adesanya, emerging victorious in his last three fights against Kelvin Gastelum, Jared Cannonier, and Darren Till.

Given their shared history, Whittaker will seek redemption in the ring, eager to perform at his best against Adesanya.

Derrick Lewis vs Tai Tuivasa and Jared Cannonier vs Derek Brunson are the other significant bouts taking place in Texas.

UFC 271 will take place on Saturday, February 12, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

The preliminary fights will begin at 1 am UK time on Sunday morning, followed by the key event at 3 am.

BT Sport 1 will broadcast the matches, with coverage starting at 12:30 am.
