What exactly is Ted Lasso about?
Ted Lasso is a comedy-drama film about Ted, who moved to London to manage the struggling English Premier League soccer team, AFC Richmond. Unfortunately for Ted (an American college football coach), he has no prior experience in this sport. And this is what the club's owner, Rebecca Welton, expected when she appointed him to his radically different new role.
Rebecca was furious at her unfaithful ex-husband and sought vengeance in the most public and impressive way she knew how: by hiring Ted and watching as his lack of soccer coaching ability destroys the club.

The AFC Richmond players are initially skeptical of their new coach, but Ted's charisma, optimism, and sense of humor quickly win them over. Since Ted Lasso debuted in August 2020, critics and fans alike have been blown away by the brilliant performances and storyline. So much so that last year's Emmys saw Brett Goldstein (club captain Roy Kent) and Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton) win best supporting actor and actress for Ted Lasso.
While Jason Sudeikis won a Golden Globe for his role in Ted Lasso in 2021, he also won the Emmy for Best Leading Comedy Actor.
There are how many seasons of Ted Lasso?
Ted Lasso currently has only two seasons available for streaming, but there is good news for newcomers who have been drawn in by the hilarious comedy-drama. While Ted Lasso Season 1 only had ten fantastic episodes, Season 2 has increased this to twelve. And the Ted Lasso news got even better when the show was renewed for a third season in October 2020.
Unfortunately, no Ted Lasso season 3 release date has been announced for any long-time Ted Lasso fans hoping for confirmation that Ted Lasso will be back soon bringing his unique style of coaching to life. However, we do have the fantastic news that a third installment will be forthcoming, as the show has been renewed for a third season.
According to the Radio Times (Opens in a new window) Jason Sudeikis will reprise his role as Ted, Hannah Waddington will reprise her role as Rebecca, and Juno Temple will continue to delight viewers as Rebecca's best friend Keeley Jones. Brett Goldstein will also appear as Roy in Ted Lasso Season 3, which is currently in production.

While there is no set release date for Ted Lasso season 3, it is possible that this will be the show's final season. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, (Opens in a new window) Last year, Jason, who co-created the show, discussed how he originally planned for three seasons.
"I mean, I'm not sure." The story I know is the one I wanted to tell, so that's the one we're telling with the help of many people in front of and behind the camera, so I'm not typing every key stroke and saying every word. "It's not even close," he said.

"But the story being told - that three-season arc - is one that I see, know, and understand," Jason continued. I appreciate their willingness to pay for those three seasons. Who knows what will happen after that. I'm not sure. "
So, while the show was conceived as a "three-season arc," given Ted Lasso's popularity, who knows if the massive fan response will allow it to go beyond that? In any case, now that you know how to watch Ted Lasso wherever you are, there's plenty of time to relive all of your favorite moments before a season 3 release date is announced.
